Many GP surgeries struggle with HR due to a lack of in-house experience or capacity, particularly in light of the complex HR situations and challenges that may arise in GP surgeries today.
We offer a "safe pair of hands" that means you can rest assured you are following the latest best practice. Our holistic approach means we ensure you are navigating HR strategically with systems and processes that reduce the likelihood of challenging situations, as well as ensuring that anything that does arise is dealt with in an effective and professional manner.
Our Story
HR4GPs was founded by Lynda Goncalves, a HR specialist since 1996. Lynda and her team offer many combined years of experience in HR with specialist knowledge of and experience of working with GP surgeries.
HR4GPs does far more than offer formulaic advice. The HR Consultants take time to understand you, your surgery and your people. We deliver training, problem management and a comprehensive HR strategy tailored to your unique circumstances. Most importantly, our services are adaptable and cost-effective and we are always friendly and approachable - never forgetting the human in Human Resources!

Managing Director/Owner & Principal HR Manager/Consultant
Lynda Goncalves
Lynda is passionate about people being at the heart of every business and is always smiling, laughing and friendly, and will go the extra mile for clients. Outside of work interests include playing netball or any type of sport, going to concerts and spending time with her family. She loves nothing more than sitting around a fire with friends.
HR Advisor
Sandrine
Sandrine is a generalist, HR Analyst and Strategist. She plays netball in the local league and enjoys playing all sport. She also loves a DIY project and spending time with her family and children.
Senior HR Officer
Cathy
Cathy is a generalist and has been in post since September 2015. She loves running and keeping fit, enjoys a nice meal and long walks with the Director of Well-Being. She has a strange obsession with tractors and combine harvesters.
Director of Wellbeing
Ru
Initially as a puppy Ru was suspended for eating through the data cables, but his suspension was lifted after 6 years and a visit for one day. Ru can hear and smell everyone’s snacks and protects the team from any tradespeople that visit.

Nick loves generalist HR and managing employee relations issues. His hobbies and interests include photography, walking, food, art, history and current affairs.

Payroll Officer
Vanessa's hobbies include dancing, karaoke and Fado, (traditional Portugese music).

Helen
Helen is a generalist and Employee Relations Specialist. She has a love of swimming, drum and base music, and cooking - especially a curry at the weekends. During the winter she is often spotted in the office wearing her blue wholly hat.
HR Manager
Lisa P
Lisa is a generalist and employee relations specialist. She loves shopping and gets up at 4am every time there is a Next sale. She also loves a good dance (ideally to some 80’s music), reading and going away in her camper van for long weekends.
Payroll Officer
Yani
Yani has been in post since April 2021. She loves adrenaline activities and is a keen cook and also loves a takeaway. Before having her two boys, Yani used to be a semi-professional dancer.
HR & Business Coordinator
Lisa S
Lisa is a generalist and has been in post since January 2014. She is fantastic at organising our office social events. Outside of work Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, holidays in the sun, holistic therapies, and social nights with friends.

Rachel
Rachel has been in post since May 2023. She loves bouldering, gardening, camping and long walks that end up in a nice pub. Rachel has a love of Board Games and Gaming with Zelda being her favourite.

Krishna
Kristna has been in post since September 2023. She loves going on holiday, taking long walks along the beach, socialising, and swimming. Her latest obsession is crocheting.
